The “Data Dances” painting series began in 2019 at the Atelier Calder, where Anderson danced with reproductions of architectural elements from the door of Calder’s studio.

 

"I listen to the architectural elements that speak to me. I measure them and recreate them in wood to generate their own ‘data’.”

 

Facing the impossibility of managing, interpreting, or finding truth through the overwhelming amounts of information available, Anderson creates her own data as a poetic response to “big data.”
