The DATA DANCES painting series began in 2019 at the Atelier Calder, where Anderson danced with wooden reproductions of architectural elements from the door of Calder's studio. 

 

"I listen to the architectural elements that speak to me. I measure them and recreate them in wood to generate their own 'data'." 

 

This process of creating personal data through measurement and embodied movement became Anderson's poetic response to "big data." Rather than passively consuming overwhelming amounts of information, she generates her own data from specific places, memorizing architectural features through dance, holding knowledge in the body rather than external storage.
