DATA ARCHITECTURE

Data is information extracted from the world and processed by machines. Anderson reverses this : she creates her own data by measuring and replicating in wood architectural features from a specific location. She dances with these elements, first creating the DATA DANCES paintings.

 

Then with eco-friendly copper-colored wire, she then weaves through this data - such as lifts, cables, skylights, doors, lighting tracks, floorboards, columns - memorizing it through movement rather than external storage. A poetic resistance to 'big data': knowledge held in the body, not the cloud.
